Peter Cherif, a suspected French jihadist who was near the perpetrators of the 2015 Charlie Hebdo bloodbath, was sentenced on Thursday to life in jail. Cherif fought for al Qaeda within the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) in Yemen from 2011 to 2018, throughout which period he was suspected of coaching his Paris childhood buddy Cherif Kouachi, who alongside along with his brother Stated carried out the January 7, 2015 bloodbath on the satirical weekly within the French capital.
