Ratan Tata, a towering icon of business and philanthropy who died on Wednesday, was cremated with full state honours in Mumbai as we speak. He was accorded a gun salute by Mumbai Police on the Worli crematorium.
His funeral happened in line with the rituals adopted by the Parsi group. He was cremated in an electrical crematorium.
Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, who referred to as Tata a “distinctive mix of morality and entrepreneurship”, additionally declared a day of mourning within the state on Thursday to pay tribute to the industrialist.
