Police on Sunday booked the proprietor of the three-storey constructing right here that collapsed a day in the past, killing eight individuals, officers stated.
Joint Commissioner of Police (JCP) Amit Verma stated a police staff is investigating the matter and the accused can be arrested quickly.
A senior police official stated an FIR has been lodged towards Rakesh Singhal, the proprietor of the Harmilap constructing within the Transport Nagar space.
The constructing collapsed on Saturday night triggering a significant rescue operation. Eight individuals have been killed within the incidents whereas 28 others have been injured within the incident.
In the meantime, the Uttar Pradesh authorities shaped a three-member committee on Sunday to probe the constructing collapse incident.
The FIR towards Singhpal was lodged on the Sarojini Nagar police station right here on the grievance of MK Singh, the police outpost in-charge at Transport Nagar, the officers stated.
The accused has been booked beneath related sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), together with 115 (2) (voluntarily inflicting harm), 105 (culpable murder not amounting to homicide), and 110 (try to commit culpable murder).
In keeping with the officers, the constructing had a motor workshop and warehouse on the bottom flooring, a medical godown on the primary flooring and a cutlery warehouse on the second flooring.
