The Nationwide Investigation Company (NIA) carried out raids at a number of areas in West Bengal in reference to a case of the alleged revival of the CPI (Maoist) in Japanese Regional Bureau space.
They carried out elaborate searches on the homes of suspects at a complete of 11 areas in South 24 Pargana, Asansol, Howrah, Nadia and Kolkata in reference to the case.
The suspects had been alleged overground staff of CPI (Maoist) and had been believed to have assisted the organisation’s commanders in finishing up Naxalite actions.
A number of incriminating paperwork, digital units, pamphlets, magazines, and handwritten letters had been seized by the NIA in the course of the raids.
The case pertains to an alleged conspiracy by the Polit Bureau/ Central Committee members, cadres and sympathisers of the banned organisation, aimed toward reviving, increasing and propagating the ideology of the CPI (Maoist) in Jharkhand, Bihar, Chhattisgarh and different states.
A complete of six accused, together with CPI (Maoist) Polit Bureau members Prashant Bose and Pramod Mishra, and Central Committee Sabyasachi Goswami, have been arrested within the case thus far, since an FIR was registered in Ranchi in April 2022. 13 high CPI (Maoist) leaders had been among the many accused named within the FIR.
