Hundreds of individuals from the Kuki-Zomi tribe got here out on the streets of Kangpokpi district headquarters right now, protesting towards the proposed elimination of the 9 and 22 Battalions of Assam Rifles Kangpokpi and Churachandpur. The 5-Level Declarations are:
1. Defending Ancestral Land: The Kuki-Zomi group vowed that its members would defend their ancestral lands, which they maintain sacred, with each drop of their blood.
2. Equal Retribution for Assaults: The group pledged that any assaults on Kuki-Zomi villages and other people can be met with equal and becoming retribution, reflecting their dedication to guard their group towards future aggressions.
3. Opposition to the Manipur Authorities: The Kuki-Zomi individuals will resist and reject any insurance policies carried out by the Manipur authorities, which they accuse of harboring hostility and trying to marginalize the Kuki-Zomi individuals politically, socially, and academically.
4. Rejection of the Manipur Authorities’s Eight-Level Demand: The declaration denounced the Manipur authorities’s eight-point demand, which they view as detrimental to the survival of the Kuki-Zo group. They accused the federal government of appeasing Meitei teams on the expense of Kuki-Zomi tribes’ security.
5. Demand for Separation as a Union Territory: The Kuki-Zomi group reaffirmed their demand for full political and geographical separation from the Meitei group, in search of Union Territory standing with its legislature. This demand, they asserted, is unyielding and non-negotiable.
