Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu visited the Lord Venkateswara Temple in Tirumala on Friday, marking the primary day of the annual Brahmotsavams.
Accompanied by his spouse, Naidu supplied “pattu vastrams” (silk robes) to the deity on behalf of the state authorities. The couple carried the silk garments on a golden plate atop their heads, coming into the temple by the principle entrance.
After the providing, temple chief monks tied the Parivattam (sacred thread) to Naidu, who wore the standard Thirunaamam on his brow. TTD Govt Officer Shyamala Rao and Extra EO Venkaiah Chowdary honoured Naidu with Sri Vari’s Sesha Vastram (sacred material).
Earlier that day, the Supreme Courtroom ordered a Particular Investigation Staff (SIT) probe into allegations that the earlier Andhra Pradesh authorities used substandard ghee containing animal fats to arrange laddu prasadam at Tirupati temple.
The SIT, supervised by the CBI and together with state cops and a member from the Meals Security and Requirements Authority of India (FSSAI), will examine the claims. Noting that the allegations had the potential of wounding sentiments of individuals worldwide, the Supreme Courtroom mentioned the SIT investigation could be monitored by the CBI director.
