J&Okay ACB traps and arrests Forester and Forest Guard for demanding and accepting bribe of Rs 15000.
Jammu and Kashmir Anti Corruption Bureau acquired a grievance alleging therein that public servants particularly Rashpaul Singh (BO) Forester and Avdesh Singh, Forest Guard demanded bribe of Rs 15000 for launch of invoice of the work particularly “fencing work, Mawa Plantation of vitex and so on, Pit Planting and Patch displaying in Co. 28/Okay (Kaneli Nallah), Budhi Block Kathua Forest Vary for Rs 2,81,290.
The complainant didn’t need to pay bribe and has approached Anti-Corruption Bureau for taking authorized motion in opposition to the accused public servants underneath regulation.
On receipt of the grievance, a discreet verification was carried out, which confirms the demand of bribe by the general public servants involved and accordingly, a case FIR No. 13/2024 u/s 7 of Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 & part 161(2) BNS was registered in Police Station Jammu on 14.09.2024 and investigation taken up.
In the course of the course of investigation, a lure workforce headed by DySP rank officer was constituted. The workforce laid a profitable lure and accused public servants have been caught red-handed whereas demanding and accepting bribe quantity of Rs 15,000, within the presence of impartial witnesses, from the complainant.
